Apple's iPad Pro and Samsung's Galaxy Tab S2 could come toe-to-toe with each other when the tablets are released in the market. Granted, the devices are both in the rumor mill for now and official news from the tech giants are yet to be announced, but speculations about the purported tablets' features are rising steadily.

Here are the latest rumors for the iPad Pro and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2.

Design & Features

Leaked images claiming to be the design of the iPad Pro has been featured on on HDBlog.it. The photos, which bear close resemblance to the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3, showcase a second port on the side or a USB C port, Expert Reviews reported.

Another leaked photo of an iPad Pro design also surfaced on the Chinese website Weibo. featuring a 12.9-inch iPad. One more purported design of the tablet is also leaked on nowhereelse.fr. According to Expert Reviews, the images show an iPad Pro case bigger than the iPad Air 2.

The Galaxy Tab S2, meanwhile, will be available at 9.7-inch and 8.0-inch sizes, Tech Radar reported. Twitter user @OnLeaks revealed that the 9.7-inch version of the Galaxy Tab S2 will come in at 237.17 x 169.58 x 5.5mm, with a metal frame and probably a glass back part, while the 8.0-inch slate is at 198.2 x 134.5 x 5.4mm and 260g, Sam Mobile noted.

The Galaxy Tab S2 will also have an 8 MP back camera and a 2 MP front shooter, Tech Radar added.

Specifications

Aside from the rumored 12.9-inch screen, the iPad Pro could also be equipped with LG's high-resolution oxide TFT panels, as well as a 2K resolution, Expert Reviews added. Some speculations, however, said that the iPad Pro would have a 4k resolution to stay in line with Apple's 4:3 screens on previous iPad versions. The iPad Pro could also have the new A9X chip and 2 GB of RAM.

The news outlet also noted that the iPad Pro's release could coincide with the launch of Apple's iOS 9. This new OS could be announced at the Worldwide Developers Conference or WWDC in June, as well as a beta available for the tablet later in 2015 before its release date alongside the iPhone 6S.

Ecumenical News claim that the iPad Pro will have an 11,000 mAh battery, along with 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB storage options. Apple's famous Touch ID Fingerprint scanner, four speakers one on each corner, and a killer stylus could also be included.

The Galaxy Tab S2 9.7-inch model will have a 5870 mAh battery, while the 8.0-inch one will have a 3580 mAh one, Tech Radar wrote. The tablet will reportedly run on Android 5.0.2 and an octa-core Exynos 5433 processor. A 32GB built in memory capacity with a microSD card slot for cards of up to 128GB are also included, the news outlet added.

Release Date

Expert Reviews noted that the iPad Pro could be launched around September or October. Tech Radar wrote that the Galaxy Tab S2 could be released in the summer of 2015.

Price

The iPad Pro will be priced at £489 or $745, which is higher than the iPad Air 2, Expert Reviews speculated. Tech Radar reported that the Galaxy Tab S2 will have a starting price at $399.
