Spider-Man fans can rejoice, because it looks like we will see a new Spidey in "Captain America 3: Civil War."

In an interview with David Letterman, "Avengers: Age of Ultron" star Robert Downey Jr. hinted that Spider-Man could be making an appearance soon. The actor, who will reprise his role as Tony Stark, said that shooting for "Captain America 3" will be starting in a couple of weeks, and when asked about Spider-Man's presence in the film, the actor, who just turned 50 earlier this month, said, "He may well be, yeah. I hear they're looking to cast a new Spider-Man."

While RDJ could be making a joke, Screen Rant noted that it was also during his interview with Letterman in October when the actor hinted at a Marvel movie announcement, with the studio revealing two days later that the actor will be returning for more Avengers-related films, including "Civil War" as they unveiled the third phase of their movie plans.

So far, Blastr noted that most of the superheroes will be back for "Civil War"and the list of all-star cast include Captain America, Winter Soldier, Falcon, Black Panther, Black Widow, Iron Man, Hawkeye, The Vision, War Machine, Ant-Man and Scarlet Witch.

While it seems that the film's villain will be RDJ's Tony Stark / Iron Man, Blastr said that there could be two other villains: David Bruhl's Baron Zemo, and Frank Grillo as Crossbones. It was noted that Crossbones will have a major part in the film, as he is said to be the one setting the conflict between the two members of the Avengers team.

In the mean time, RDJ will be appearing with the rest of the Avengers team on "Avengers: Age of Ultron" which will be opening in U.S. theaters beginning Friday. The official synopsis of the film read: "Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Don Cheadle as James Rhodes/War Machine, Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill and Stellan Skarsgård as Erik Selvig, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision."

"The Avengers: Age of Ultron" will be released on May 1, 2015, while "Captain America: Civil War" will be released on May 6, 2016.
