When Microsoft took the wraps off its latest Surface 3 tablet, speculations towards the long-rumored Surface Pro 4 only became stronger. This time, while one may have forgotten about it, the alleged Surface Phone comes back to rumor mills, stirring details for the interested customer.

In a recent article, the Ecumenical News reported that the Windows 10-powered Surface Phone is thought to "be released in the near future." While such insight is yet to be confirmed, we know for a fact that Microsoft won't be releasing flagships (Lumia models, specifically) until the new operating system is perfectly running.

Neil Broadley, Microsoft's Director of Phone Marketing, said in a dialogue, "We remain completely committed and focused on new flagship products."

"That said, certainly we believe the best time to bring those flagship devices to market is when we have our very latest flagship software experience available. We're focusing our flagship development for slightly later when Windows 10 is available," the director assured.

Microsoft has promised that Windows 10 will unify phones, tablets and PCs, the Ecumenical News said, making the Surface Phone another candidate to share in the ecosystem.

For those who may not know, Windows 10 is scheduled to launch in summer, TechRadar noted. The outlet expects "possibly late July 2015." That leaves Microsoft with five more months before the calendar makes another turn. Are we bound to see the new flagship, then?

Scott Simpson from Techno Maverick argues that the Surface brand owns a "considerable value" in the market. The author tells, "A Surface Phone, even if itself wasn't promoted heavily, would benefit tremendously from prior Surface-themed advertisements."

While uncertain of what to expect in fall's upcoming phones, Simpson feels that anything is possible, considering Microsoft's new executives.

Meanwhile, the Venture Capital Post took note of Nadir Aslam's concept for the Surface Phone. In Aslam's render, the device is pegged to sport a 5.7-inch full high-definition display, including a pressure-sensitive Surface pen and a Touch Cover keyboard.

The concept also covers the device in a premium material called VaporMg. This is described to be a "strong and light" magnesium alloy.

It must be noted that the concept also brings a build-in beveled kickstand, allowing users the flexibility of working in portrait or landscape modes.

As told by Phones Review, the design follows the idea of Surface tablets, with Windows 10 features in full bloom. These include transparent tiles, pre-installed Office and Skype, with added support for LTE, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microHDMI. Android Origin is convinced that the Surface Phone may be the perfect Galaxy Note rival.

What do you think about a Surface Phone? Will Microsoft make it its first Windows 10 flagship? Sound off in the comments section.
