OnePlus has recently announced that its 2014 flagship killer, the OnePlus One, is available to purchase with no further invites. For those who may not know, the device initially sold through an invite-only system, much to the disappointment of some prospective buyers.

OnePlus wrote in a blog post, "This week marks a very special anniversary for OnePlus. Exactly one year ago this Thursday, April 23rd, we announced the OnePlus One to the world."

The start-up went on, "Your feedback has resulted in a wider range of accessories, better logistics options and an evolution from invites to pre-orders to Tuesday Open Sales. Now, we're taking it one step further. Starting today, the One will be available without an invite. Forever."

Today, word about the handset's successors are no secret. Prospects are expecting the arrival of the OnePlus Two this year, accompanied by a cheaper, lower-end model called the OnePlus One Lite.

According to the Master Herald, the new smartphones are expected to arrive in the second half of 2015, so we could be eyeing July as the earliest time. The OnePlus Two is expected in Q3, while the One Lite looks to come in the last quarter.

Master Herald added that the handsets' launch will come through a special announcement.

Unfortunately, the OnePlus Two will follow its predecessor's footsteps, as it's confirmed to launch with invites too. TechnoBuffalo is convinced that the device will come in "similar low prices," availed through "the same tricky ordering process."

In its blog post, OnePlus explains why, "The OnePlus 2 will bring the challenges that come along with a brand new product, and initially, our invite system will help us to manage that risk. It also helps us to be sure that every OnePlus 2 user gets the amazing experience that they deserve."

While the upcoming flagship has been recognized, its specs and features remain to be subjects of rumor mills. As cited by Pocket-lint, the OnePlus Two will pack a 5.5-inch screen that's either a 1080p or QHD display. The former option, as users would know, is similar to the One.

The outlet cited other purported specs such as a Snapdragon 805 or 810 processor, 16 MP main camera, 5 MP front snapper, 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage and a 3,300 mAh battery.

Citing another source, the Master Herald noted that the One Lite will come with updated specs and features "compared to the OnePlus One."

Meanwhile, OnePlus has also revealed its first telecom partnership with Malaysia's Maxis, Phone Arena reported. One smartphones are expected to sell for "the equivalent of $330" without contract.
