Sportscaster Erin Andrews' recent comment during an episode of "Dancing with the Stars" (DWTS) seemed to be aimed at her boyfriend, Los Angeles Kings player Jarret Stolll, who was arrested on alleged possession of cocaine and ecstasy recently.
US Weekly said Andrews commented about "the virtues of staying in versus partying." The same report said the statement seemed to be a veiled dig at Stoll.
The DWTS co-host was interviewing Willow Shields when she gave the remark.
Initially, the two talked about Shields' routine with professional dancer Mark Ballas, and the DWTS contestant said, "That was really fun. I've never done a dance like that! At first I was scared, [but] I had a lot of fun with that!"
Andrews then asked. "What do you usually do on spring break?"
The "Hunger Games" actress said she usually spends time at home watching movies for an entire week.
To this, Andrews replied with "There's nothing wrong with that. I feel like some other people should learn from you."
The New York Post said Stoll was arrested over the weekend at the Wet Republic pool at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. US Weekly added that he was immediately released on a $5,000 bond but he could face felony charges if tests come back positive.
According to Yahoo Sports, Stoll's latest conflict with the law is bad news for the King's forward who is set to become an unrestricted free agent.
It noted that a security guard "found an off-white powder in two pink baggies, small baggies, he recognized as contraband, also a clear plastic baggie containing numerous gel-caps with an off-white powder inside the caps."
The said baggies, according to Yahoo Sports, were allegedly found in one of the back pockets of Stoll's swimsuit shorts.
The white powder was later on identified as cocaine which weighed 3.3 grams.
"The gel-caps weighed 8.1 grams. The police officer said he asked Stoll if the powder was cocaine and Stoll answered, 'Yes,' according to the report. The gel-caps were seized pending chemical analysis," noted Yahoo Sports in its article.
Following his arrest, Stoll was reportedly referred to the NHL and NHLPA joint substance abuse and behavioral health program.
Criminal charges on the hockey player are still pending as there is still no toxicology results on the drugs as per Yahoo Sports.
What is more interesting in this latest issue is that the hearing of Stoll is scheduled on the same day that he will be an unrestricted free agent. Let us see if this case will have serious repercussions on his career even his love life.
