Battlefield 4 has been a big success for developer DICE and publisher EA, but the game has suffered from frequent technical problems that have marred the game somewhat. These problems have continued with the release of the China Rising DLC. Xbox One and Xbox 360 Battlefield Premium subscribers are claiming that the DLC is have difficulties downloading on to their consoles.

The official Xbox website warns users that "purchase and content usage" for both the Xbox One and Xbox 360 can be limited for the DLC, and that Microsoft is working to fix the problem:

"Hi Xbox members, are you having difficulties trying to get the new China Rising map pack for Battlefield 4? We are currently working with our partner to get this issue resolved. Thanks for all your patience while we work. We'll update you when work is complete."

In addition to these problems with China Rising, EA has made a troubleshooting page for the DLC on their website. This may indicate that the DLC is inherently flawed, and could be contributing to the problems Xbox owners are experiencing. As the notice warns:

"While exploring new battlegrounds in the Battlefield 4 expansion, China Rising, you may run into an occasional hiccup, issue, glitch, or problem that could interrupt or prohibit your gameplay."

In addition to the install problems being reported by both Microsoft and EA, it appears that players are experiencing a bug that asks the user to download the content after they have already done so. On the PC, users are reporting that they are being dropped from multiplayer games using China Rising content almost as soon as the match begins. Some Xbox 360 owners also appear unable to access the content even after they successfully download the DLC.

These problems should be nothing new to Battlefield 4 players. DICE and EA have had to work hard to iron out all the bugs found in the game. The game has had many different patches released since it was first released in October, but that has not stopped fans from buying and playing the game in large numbers.
Hopefully Battlefield 4 can work out the kinks found in both the main game and the new China Rising DLC so the game can reach its full potential and wow gamers like it should.
