Dubbed the Samsung Galaxy Tab A tablet, the device comes in two sizes: 8.0" and 9.7." AnandTech said these tablets were marketed to suit the needs of users well.

"This latest addition includes some of the best features of the Samsung Galaxy Tab series, while streamlining connectivity. The tablet will let users connect to everything that matters, from family members, friends and colleagues, to work and entertainment content, as well as other smart Samsung devices," Samsung Mobile Computing senior vice president Gary Riding said in a Business Wire report.

Describing Samsung's newest addition to their product line, Engadget wrote that the device's center piece has a 4:3 aspect ratio which "gives you more breathing room when you're browsing the web or reading a book."

The same report indicated that the variants have 1.2GHz quad-core chip, 1,024 x 768 screen, 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front shooter. Aside from that, they also have Samsung lightweight software loadout.

Users can also choose between the 16GB to 32GB of storage depending on the tablet model.

A version that comes with an S Pen will also be released on May 17 for $350, Engadget added.

"The tablets will be available in Smoky Titanium, White and Smoky Blue," Android Authority noted.

The difference

The two tablets have no point of comparison except their size. "They are both distinctly mid-range tablets, with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 410 at their heart," AnandTech described.

These two new tablets also stand out from other tablet offerings in the past in terms of design.

"Both tablets also have a full metal chassis, which will be an enormous improvement over the plastic construction of Samsung's other tablets," noted AnandTech.

The Galaxy Tab A also has a wide range of features that allow users to use the device with ease.

"Multi Window allows for easy multitasking, and with Microsoft Office for Android you can review and save changes to Word, PowerPoint, and Excel on your tablet," added Business Wire.
