There are a few lines that can make you tear up quite suddenly, but when Han Solo (Harrison Ford) said "Chewie, we're home" in the new trailer for "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens," you have to admit it gave you a lot of emotions.
The trailer, according to Reuters, was the highlight of the annual "Star Wars Celebration" fan convention, where tons of fans flocked to the event in order to watch old and new cast members discuss the upcoming movie which will be in theaters on December 18.
The lead characters for the new episode, Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley, and John Boyega, were joined by director JJ Abrams and producer Kathleen Kennedy, as well as Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), and Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) to answer questions at the event, Reuters added.
Ford, on the other hand, was unable to attend because he is still recuperating from an injury he obtained in March, when he crash-landed his small plane on a golf course.
The first look at the actor in the new film, however, prompted cheers from fans, and the trailer opened with a vehicle racing along a desert-planet called Jakku, with Luke Skywalker's voice narrating, "The Force is strong with my family. My father has it. I have it. My sister has it. You have it too."
The 90-second clip also showed Isaac as Poe Dameron in his X-Wing, Boyega as Finn in his Stormtrooper suit, and Ridley as Rey running from an explosion and the new droid BB-8. It ends with Han Solo in his leather jacket, standing next to Chewbacca. They are home indeed.
As The Verge noted, the first glimpse at Ford and Mayhew is the most exciting thing about the new teaser, but the latest 90-second clip, paired with the 88-second trailer from last November gave a deeper insight as to the events of Episode VII.
There are also several other things that we learned about "The Force Awakens," one of which, according to io9, is the fact that the Empire has a new name, so does the Rebels. According to the site, the Empire is now called "The First Order" and the Rebels called "The Resistance" as can be seen on the model of the brand new Resistance X-Wing fighter, which read, "The modern incarnation of a classic design, the incom T-70 X-wing fighter is the signature combat craft of the Resistance forces in their fight against the First Order."
"Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" will be released in theaters on December 18. 2015.
