Scheduled to be released in September, the "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" is said to be Konami and Hideo Kojima's last Metal Gear Solid game. So what do we need to know about this upcoming release?

PC Gamer said that the Metal Gear Series will have more presence on PC with the arrival of "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain." In December last year, fans got the chance to experience the game through "Ground Zeroes," a prologue of the game which "showcases its open-world stealth, which is a first for the series."

The prologue reportedly featured the Guantánamo Bay-inspired Camp Omega level where gamers play as Big Boss who is a legendary soldier and the head of the mercenary army Militaires Sans Frontières.

Toonzone noted that the game will have a buddy system which will feature Big Boss having a partner helping him in his missions. The partners will reportedly include Quiet (a mysterious character) and DD, the pet wolf-dog.

"You can actually raise a puppy who will become Big Boss' partner and help him on missions," added Toonzone.

The Phantom Pain will also reportedly have the latest version of Metal Gear Online which is a new competitive multiplayer mode. This is considered to be an exciting part of the game as Toonzone said that a player has the chance to have a Mother Base and function as the HQ for Big Boss.

"Even more exciting: players, as Big Boss, can infiltrate and execute an attack on someone else's Mother Base. The online version of The Phantom Pain is set to feature a class system, so that is another great way that the gameplay can adapt to a player's gameplay style. I cannot wait to see the depth that the latest version of Metal Gear Online adds," Toonzone explained.

The bad news with the upcoming release, however, is that it is reportedly the last game by Kojima who was allegedly fired by Konami. A Tech Times report dismissed this rumor as it said that voice actress Donna Burke announced on Facebook that Kojima was not fired clarifying her earlier claim that was the opposite.

"Konami is correct in that Kojima has not actually been fired. As I stated previously he and his team are still working hard on getting the game out. My sincere apologies to Konami, Hideo Kojima and the fans for giving the wrong impression. I was trying to add my voice to Otsuka-san pleading with the fans to not abandon MGSV because of the stuff happening at Konami and to throw my support behind Kojima and everyone who has worked over the last five years and is working to make this game the greatest ever," her Facebook post added.
