Jaden Smith is not your typical 16-year-old. After all, he is the son of one of the most well-known Hollywood couples, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith.

For someone who has grown up in the public eye, Jaden is pretty comfortable in his own skin, and he's definitely not shy when it comes to self-expression. In fact, at his young age, Jaden is ready to make his own statement in Hollywood, and that means donning female clothes from time to time.

In a fashion forward look, US Magazine noted that Jaden was spotted wearing a fringed black and white sweater with a black skirt over denim shorts, accessorized with a pair of leopard print socks and black Nike sneakers.

Before the photos surfaced, the young Smith already joked about his decision to wear women's clothing, saying on Twitter, "That Moment When Your Wearing A Dress With No Pants And You Swerve Way To Hard."

Jaden's unconventional style has raised some eyebrows. After all, few male celebrities find their way shopping for clothes at the women's section at the mall. On April 9, Hollywood Life noted that Will and Jada's son was pictured in a dress, but despite the reactions he got from fans, his parents barely batted their eyelashes. A source for the Hollywood couple said, "Will and Jada have their own arguments about their kids and some of the choices they make, but they are both on board when it comes to Jaden's fashion choices. They are so used to it by now that it doesn't bother them at all. They like his choices and think he looks pretty cool."

Actually, his parents think he's more than "pretty cool." Will spoke about his son in an interview, saying that his son has somewhat a "poor person's mentality." The "Independence Day" actor explained, "Jaden, my 16-year-old, he has one pair of shoes. He has three pairs of pants and he has five shirts. He has refused to be a slave to money. I so respect that...It's such an interesting thing to watch, because I came from a middle-class background...our lights and gas would be cut off from not paying the bill...And he's from the complete other end of the spectrum. And it's so interesting to me that from growing up in that space, he could see the need for things in a way that he's rejecting."

He also added, "They're really well-adjusted around this business and understanding the nature of having to take a battering, and Jaden understands that that's a part of this business. If he wants to do it, there's a certain amount of battery that you have to be willing to live through."
