The Toronto Raptors might explore a deal that could send shooting guard DeMar DeRozan to another team in exchange for draft picks or another young player, said a source close to situation on Tuesday.

DeRozan, the ninth overall pick in the 2009 Draft, has voiced his frustration on the current situation of the Raptors, who have already dropped three consecutive games and are four games below .500 at 6-10.

"Me, personally, I'm frustrated, period, of losing at home," DeRozan told the National Post. "I hate it. I hate it with a passion. We're right there. We're the ones [making mistakes]. Nobody is making us miss our coverages or nothing like that."

DeRozan might have not asked for a trade, but the tone of his voice indicates that he has already grown tired of losing, and a fresh start could be what he needs for him to reach his full potential.

Crunching Down DeRozan Production

DeRozan is putting up career-high averages so far, chalking up 21.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists through 16 games this season. The improvement in DeRozan's long range shooting is also noticeable. He's shot 38 percent from beyond the arc this season.

"He's shooting a lot of the same shots in the same areas," Raptors coach Dwane Casey told the National Post. "But he's shooting with more confidence. Physicality doesn't take him out like it used to. I think that's from confidence and maturity a little bit."

Still, many analysts are concerned about DeRozan's inability to lock down his man on the defensive end. In addition, DeRozan's transformation as a volume shooter (18 attempts per game) has apparently stalled the development of young big man Jonas Valanciunas, whom the Raptors consider as their future franchise player.

Potential Trade

The 24-year-old DeRozan is still a young player with lots of time to grow. According to Fox Sports NBA insider Sam Amico, DeRozan is drawing strong interest from numerous ball clubs, but the chances of him switching jerseys depends on the asking price of the Raptors.

"One GM told FOX Sports Ohio there is also strong league-wide interest in Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan - but seemingly nothing that would entice DeRozan's current employer to take the plunge," Amico stated.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers and Sacramento Kings are only some of potential suitors for DeRozan, whose name is expected to be on the trade rumor mill at least for the next two months.
