With less than a month before his megafight against Manny Pacquiao, American undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. is already nearing the welterweight limit.
According to Daily Mail, Mayweather was photographed on the scales checking his weight a few weeks before the fight. It was noted that the two boxers are required to weigh not more than 10 percent in excess of the welterweight limit that is 147 pounds.
Mayweather's weight measured 150.5 lbs and it seems that he is doing well in terms of his weight program for the fight.
Daily Mail explained that the weight checks were part of the process to ensure that both players will not shed too much pounds in the last days or minutes leading to the fight which will prevent brain damage caused by fluid loss.
The two will reportedly weigh in again seven days prior to the fight and they should already be "within five percent of the welterweight limit."
On his Instagram account, Mayweather showed the public how he prepares for the fight through a rest and recovery session in a cold sauna in Las Vegas.
It was noted by Daily Mail that the Cryotherapy Chamber helps a person regain the body after doing a heavy workout.

"A session at -200 degrees usually lasts 1-3 minutes and helps speed up muscle recovery as well as decrease inflammation and muscle soreness after exercise," the same report added.
Dubbed as the "Fight of the Century," the match between Pacquiao and Mayweather has been anticipated for years not only by the fans but by the entire sports industry.
Pacquiao's coach Freddie Roach tagged the fight as "good against evil" as reported by news.com.au since Pacquiao will be fighting an opponent who has a history of domestic violence.
"For the first time in my life with Manny Pacquiao, this is the first fighter he hasn't liked; and I can tell. I know Manny Pacquiao doesn't like this guy, and I think those are the reasons why,'' Roach told news.com.au.
The American boxer does have a bad record in terms of domestic violence as news.com.au said that "he has been involved in seven instances of alleged physical assault - on five different women - that ended in an arrest or the issue of a citation."
"Manny is really against domestic violence. It's a big issue maybe in the Philippines for him, and being a congressman, he can control some of that stuff. I've even thought about bringing a couple of the metro cops from Vegas in to tell Manny how many times he'd been arrested and how bad a guy he is. But I decided I can't go that far. He already doesn't like him; I think we're OK," Roach added.
Since Pacquiao seems to not like Mayweather and his acts, Roach believes that his boxer will give him a good fight and fans should really be excited.
