DC fans have been tittering about The CW series, especially because things are getting hotter than ever for Barry Allen. However, let's not forget that while Grant Gustin is the fastest superhero on the small-screen, a big-screen version is also in the works, starring Ezra Miller (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) as the lightning-fast speedster.

According to Screen Rant, Warner Bros. is looking at directing duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller to helm "The Flash" for 2018. They are known for their works in "The LEGO Movie" and "22 Jump Street". Warner Bros. is not the only one looking to get the directors, though, as it has been reported that the pair has also been tapped to direct the new "Ghostbusters" film that's due to come out in the next few years.

Jeff Sneider from The Wrap, who first broke the news, said during the Meet The Movie Press, "We've heard a bit of a tug of war going on between Warner Bros. and Sony, which would like the same two directors for one of its big franchise movies. If Warner Bros. wanted them for The Flash, and Sony wanted them for a Ghostbusters movie, which would Lord and Miller do?"

Movie Web noted, however, that this hasn't been confirmed yet, considering that Lord and Miller have a very full plate at the moment as they are also helming "The Great American Hero," and spinoffs of "The LEGO Movie" called "Ninjago," "The LEGO Batman Movie," and "The LEGO Movie Sequel." But with no concrete plans on which film they will be doing next, there is also the possibility that they can choose to squeeze in either "The Flash" or "Ghostbusters."

The website also noted that the pair is known to direct comedies, so Warner Bros. may be thinking of a lighter take on the superhero film. With most of them heavily action-packed, this may actually be a breath of fresh air that could set "The Flash" aside from other superhero films that have been taking the Box Office by storm. Not that it will be a new thing for the Flash franchise, considering that in contrast to "Arrow," CW's series is actually very light-hearted.

So, do you think that the big screen version with Ezra Miller will be a bit on the comedic side like the way they took it in CW, or is Warner Bros. looking for Lord and Miller to take a risk at directing a darker story?
