There are good things and bad things about the way Netflix airs its shows. For instance, in "House of Cards," it airs all episodes simultaneously each season. On one hand, you don't have to wait for the next week to see the next episode, but because you can finish all thirteen episodes in a couple of days, you will have to wait longer for the next season to air.
Which is why you hang on to news, and the good thing is that the political drama starring Kevin Spacey is getting yet another season, as confirmed by the official "House of Cards" Twitter account. The photo announcement came with the caption, "I will leave a legacy. #Underwood2016"
However, despite the announcement being very recent, showrunner Beau Willimon admitted on his own Twitter account that he and the team have been working on the next season for a while now, saying, "Official - S4 of @HouseofCards announced. But the writers & I have been secretly writing for months hehe. @netflix,"
Time Magazine noted that the third season wrapped up with a cliffhanger with Frank, who took over as president beat Heather Dubar in Iowa, securing his position for the presidential campaign. Of course, the higher you rise, the harder you fall, and his personal life, unlike his career, is not looking so good, especially because Claire (Robin Wright) left him, and Doug went on to kill Rachel.
There were a lot of questions that fans expect to be answered next season, among other things. Here are some of the things we could expect next year, as noted by People:
1) An impeachment for Frank, because things will only get interesting when he gets reelected into office, and there's more fun when people try to bring him down. Congress can make a move for his impeachment, and both parties hate his guts, anyway.
2) Journalists should rally to unearth Frank's secrets. After all, Frank has killed people, including Zoe (Kate Mara), whom he pushed in front of a train. It's time for them to unite against the POTUS, don't you think?
3) Claire should get her groove back, because she was a powerful woman on her own, and despite her political suicide in Season 3, Frank is going to need her should he want to keep his office.
There has been no word yet on the exact premiere date for the fourth season, but what else do you want to see happen in this political drama?
