Following a 30-hour "Persona" live stream session in February, recent reports suggest that "Persona 5" could launch at this year's E3, set on June 16-18 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

While fans may rejoice at the thought of the game's arrival, its official web page has not indicated a specific schedule yet, Christian Today reported. That said, the claim is still best taken with a healthy pinch of salt.

In an earlier dialogue with the Weekly Famitsu, Katsura Hashino, game director, revealed how his team had been working on the title. He expressed (via Gematsu), "We're just as eager to bring this game out finally so they can enjoy what all we've been working on and day by day, we're getting closer to the finish line. It's just going to be a little while longer now before it's here."

Nevertheless, Atlus has confirmed that the game is out "before the end of 2015," Crossmap wrote. It is slated to arrive in North America and Japan.

According to the Master Herald, players of earlier "Persona" games will feel "right at home" with the upcoming title, considering its preservation of gameplay style. The role-playing system is reportedly staying, allowing players to summon their Personas.

Rumors have it that the game will bring new characters, Christian Today noted. Their back stories and protagonist connections are also expected soon.

When asked by the Weekly Famitsu about main characters being thieves, Hashino revealed, "It's interesting you refer to them in that way specifically because one of the things that inspired us to make this question to begin with was how, say, a classic, iconic thief in the vein of 'Lupin III' might win the hearts and minds of people in today's day and age if they were out running around today."

"We want our players to be able to empathize with these characters and enjoy seeing what they get themselves into..." the director added.

As cited by Eurogamer, the game's protagonist is a second-year high school student who's suffering from a problem that's yet to be detailed. He's known to have transferred to Shibuya at the start of the Japanese school year. His default Persona is said to be Arsène, a character who's reportedly able to travel at places others can't go to.

The outlet also mentioned about a transforming cat called Morgana, who happens to appear at the start of the game. This feline is believed to take a key role in story development.

In addition to these, the game comes with a turn-based Combat mode, guns and melee weapons, various platforming segments and "puzzle bits," the Master Herald wrote.

"Persona 5" is bound for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.
