The first-ever trailer of the long-awaited "Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem" is unveiled in the latest Nintendo Direct. The crossover title, announced in 2013, has been the subject of speculations over the course of time, most likely for the lack of word regarding its development.

Nevertheless, Nintendo just made sure that things are underway. The game's three-minute trailer has showcased its vibrant interplay of visuals and mechanics, leaving fans in absolute delight.

Engadget took note of the Japanese gaming giant's remarks, which said, "Thank you for waiting, everyone... The role-playing masters at Atlus are developing a truly modern RPG where everyday life exists alongside a secret world of fantasy."

The title is slated to launch for the Wii U, and according to Eurogamer, it will be "due next year." Kotaku noted that it's bound for Japan "this holiday."

Interestingly, GamesRadar has included the title in its "100 Most Anticipated Games of 2015," predicting that they "won't see anything new of this until E3."

As you may already know, the next E3, formally known as the Electronic Entertainment Expo, happens on June 16-18, 2015 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Eurogamer cited other franchise updates included in the Direct, such as the arrival of "Mario Maker" in September, the "Amiibo Touch & Play: Nintendo Classics Highlights" app due next month and a yet-to-be-titled "Fire Emblem" 3DS sequel.

"Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem" is a collaborative project between Intelligent Systems and Atlus, Arcade Sushi informed. The outlet is convinced, however, that the latter will be taking charge of the game's development, considering that the former is working on the "Fire Emblem" sequel and "Code Name: S.T.E.A.M."

As told by Game Informer, the game will feature "modern day Persona-like high school kids becoming super heroes and J-Pop idols."

The outlet is convinced that mounts and vehicles are playing big roles in gameplay, as heavily depicted in the trailer.

Arcade Sushi listed characters prospective players can expect. From "Shin Megami Tensei," there will be Kazuya, Yuka, Aleph, Hiroko, Tamaki Uchida, Demi-fiend, Chiaki Tachibana, Flynn and Isabeau, while "Fire Emblem" brings Marth, Caeda, Roy, Lilina, Hector, Lyn, Eliwood, Eirika, Ephraim, Elincia, Sothe, Ike, Micaiah, Chrom and Lucina.
