As 2015 opens to its second quarter, the hype for upcoming Apple products has only become stronger.
At this point, rumors have it that the 12-inch iPad Pro and iPad Mini 4 will be announced in April, while three more iPhone 6 variants -- the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone 6c -- are believed to arrive before 2016 sets in.
Followers would know that the sixth-generation iPod touch is one of this year's most-anticipated releases, though the device has never been confirmed by the Cupertino giant.
The revamped media player is expected to arrive in September, the Master Herald wrote in a recent article. As cited by the outlet, the device will come with "groundbreaking features." It is said to pack "a lot of firsts," projected to captivate the market.
One of these alleged features, as cited by the Master Herald, is the iOS 9.
According to BREATHEcast, some consumers are still hopeful to get another device in the product line. These prospects are reportedly aiming for specs superior to its predecessor's dual-core A5 chip and 5 MP built-in camera.
The outlet cited rumors, which claim that the next iPod touch packs a large, 5.5-inch screen, a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 8 MP iSight camera and 1.5 MP front snapper. Expected colors include space gray, silver, red, green, pink and orange.
Citing sales statistics, Christian Today reported that the fifth-generation iPod touch (current) has performed "poorly" in the market. According to the outlet, the product's sales were affected by the launching of "several smartphones" that eclipsed its abilities.
Other rumors indicate that the sixth-generation iPod touch will arrive in two sizes. As told by the Ecumenical News, speculations have it that 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch models will coming.
The source cited other inclusions, such as Touch ID, microSD support and improved battery life. Instead of iOS 9, the outlet took note of claims, which point that the device ships with iOS 8.1.3.
Interestingly, the Ecumenical News wrote, "the sixth-gen iPod Touch will also be water resistant."
With regards to pricing, the device is expected to retail just like its predecessor, BREATHEcast cited. This follows the $299 price tag for the 32 GB model, while the 64 GB model gets a figure of $399.
Depending on the variant, the Master Herald forecasted a price range of $250 to $300.
