Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama's relationship is about to take on a different turn. E! News reported that the couple will star in a film together.
In an interview with the entertainment news site for the promotion of his upcoming indie thriller titled "The Girl Is in Trouble," Valderrama revealed that his movie with Lovato could come out in theaters next year.
"I won't be able to [shoot] it this year because this year's pretty much gone with my schedule but early next year, I'll probably be directing my first big film," the former "That '70s Show" star told the news outlet. "I'm going to be in it as well. When I did 'Larry Crowne' and I saw that Tom Hanks could direct, produce, write and star in a movie all at the same time, he kind of gave me hope that it was possible for me to do, too."
Valderrama continued, "It's all about scheduling, management of your time and having good partners who will tell you when your take sucks."
When asked whether the former Disney star would be a part of the planned flick, Valderrama, 35, admitted that the public will be informed of their joint projects soon.
"You're very smart. I can't confirm but her and I are definitely looking forward to doing a bunch of things together and it will come together once we make an announcement in the next couple of weeks," he said, as quoted by the news outlet.
"The Girl is in Trouble" focuses on Valderrama's character as "a gangbanger whose drug dealer brother is killed during a night of heavy partying," E! News wrote. The film also stars Columbus Short, Jesse Spencer, and Alicja Bachleda-Curuś.
Wilmer's Surprise Appearance at Demi's Benefit Concert
Just recently, Valderrama made a surprise attendance at Lovato's benefit show where the pop star talked about how she dealt with mental illness. The concert, aimed to raise money for her Lovato Treatment Scholarship Program, also saw the songstress answering questions from the audience, Huffington Post reported.
Upon getting asked whether her boyfriend is coming to the show, Lovato sadly revealed that Valderrama couldn't make it, only to witness a huge surprise when the actor walked out on stage, much to the delight of the "Heart Attack" singer, Huffington Post added. The couple then kissed before Valderrama "led the audience in singing 'Happy Birthday' to celebrate Demi's third year of sobriety."
"There's, like, a million things to say, but one thing I can honestly say is that it's been a long time since we've seen a role model like her," he told the audience, as reported by the news outlet. "It's been a long time to see somebody that actually has the courage to be who she wants to be. And if you can take anything from tonight, walk away understanding that from today, life will get better."
