Ed Sheeran, like one of his best buds, Taylor Swift, is an incredible sweetheart to his fans, which is probably why so many swoon to his songs. However, an Australian couple, Kya and Matt Debono, were luckier than the average newlyweds because they had the Brit singer as their wedding crasher, performing his song, "Thinking Out Loud" at their wedding.

According to Us Magazine, Sheeran's surprising appearance was not a random thing, and was in fact organized by KIIS 1065's "Kyle & Jackie O Show," who threw the couple their dream wedding.

Kyle & Jackie O were the couple's fairy godparents in the nuptials. The unemployed groom had to put their wedding on hold when his bride's mother passed away in 2012. Sharing their heartfelt story to the radio hosts, they were given their fairy tale wedding for free, and Sheeran is among the many surprises that the hosts arranged for the $80,000 extravaganza.

After his surprise performance, he posted a photo with the newlyweds on Instagram, captioned, "Just surprised this lovely couple's first dance. Available for weddings, birthdays and bar mitzvah's, contact your local super market for details."

But while he was singing to a couple who found their forever in each other, his love life hasn't fared as well. According to The Daily Mail, in an interview with Kyle & Jackie O, the 24-year-old Brit singer confirmed that he and his long-time girlfriend, Athina Andrelos have parted ways.

Asked about his romantic status, Sheeran told the hosts, "I wasn't single, I was in a relationship for a long time."

When asked by if that meant he is currently single, he replied with a simple "Yes."

This confirmation came just a few days after rumors emerged that he agreed to take a break with his girlfriend following a fight they had over the events at a BRIT Awards after-party, where, a source said Sheeran was drinking too much and was unable to deal with a girl that had been bothering them the entire night.

The source also added, "It wasn't to do with his fame, it's just how he'd deal with other people - girls - wanting to talk to him on nights out."

Before Athina, Sheeran dated fellow singer Ellie Goulding, but the relationship did not end well, as she was allegedly cheating on the redhead crooner with another man, believed by many to be One Direction's Niall Horan. Taking a page out of Swift's book, he was also believed to have written "Don't" for Goulding, athough those rumors have not been confirmed.

When Swift, who had been friends with Sheeran for a while, declared her love for him at the BRIT Awards, Athina was not pleased with it either, adding to the fact that both fans of Swift and Sheeran have been rooting for them to take their friendship into the next level.
