After having his knee surgery last month, Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose is confident that he will be shooting hoops again with his team prior to the end of the current NBA season.

According to ESPN, Rose had to undergo meniscectomy, the surgical removal of a torn meniscus, in Feb. 27. His right knee was affected.

In 2012, Rose tore the ACL in his left knee; by November 2013, he tore the medial meniscus in his right knee.

In an interview on Wednesday, Rose said he's hoping to join his teammates during practice within the week or next week.

"That would be the plan, but who knows? Whenever I'm ready to come back, that's when I'm going to come back," the point guard said.

After previous injuries and surgeries to repair them, Rose is reportedly doing good with rehabilitation. He assured that the process has been "smooth" since there's neither pain nor swelling on his knee.

Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau also revealed via ESPN that the player has been doing everything during practice. This, however, does not include "taking contact," which could be a precaution considering his recent injury.

NBC Sports took note of Rose's remarks, who said, "I'm feeling good. I'm trying to do all the right things. Put all the positives in the bag and just try to go with it. It's something that I've been doing for a long time. Rehab is definitely a grind. But I'm getting used to it."

Asked whether he's concerned about catching up and finding his rhythm prior to the playoffs, Rose admitted it would be different -- though he reminded the public he's professional in the sport. "I think I'm good enough to be able to fit my way in," the athlete said.

Yahoo Sports discussed that Rose will be big contributor to the team, specially if he works closely with center Pau Gasol and power forward Nikola Mirotic. The three are expected to be the frontrunners of the team in the games.

The outlet is convinced that Bulls will have its "healthiest" roster, having strong players in terms of offense. If this will be the case, it is said that Rose's team could indeed be "the toughest team to beat in a seven-game series."
