Expected to launch in April, the LG G4 is one of this year's most-anticipated Android smartphones. To date, rumor mills have done quite enough that we can almost see how the new flagship looks like -- but things become even more interesting when we learn that it could actually sport a curved architecture.
Designer Ivo Maric has come up with a new LG G4 concept. GSMArena described the render as "very appealing," as it flaunts a slightly-curved display that's reminiscent of a toned-down LG G Flex 2.
The outlet also took note of recent rumors, which claimed that the LG G4 will arrive sans a metal body. The concept presents a leather-made back that's very interesting and classy to look at, though we have to raise some eyebrows when durability is put to question.
Recent leaks have claimed that the LG G4 packs a 5.6-inch display, contrary to earlier speculations that put the device at 5.3 inches.
Other rumors tell differently. According to the Christian Post, the LG G4 is believed to have the same 5.5-inch display as its predecessor.
The LG G3 sports a 13 MP main camera, supporting a resolution of 4160 x 3120 pixels. The device comes with a 5.5-inch display, packing a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels.
Whatever turns out, if reports are to be believed, the handset appears bigger than existing flagships it has to beat, such as the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and 5.1-inch Samsung Galaxy S6. That puts the device among the "phablet" family.
Based on GSMArena's preliminary specifications, the LG G4 will pack a display resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, Adreno 430 GPU, 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB / 64 GB storage options and 128 GB maximum microSD support.
The device is expected to house a 16 MP main camera that captures a resolution of 5312 x 2988 pixels. Supporting features include phase detection / laser autofocus, optical image stabilization, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, simultaneous video and image recording, geo-tagging, face detection and HDR.
Videography features are reported at 2160p at 30 fps, and1080p at 60 fps. Of course, the selfie snapper must not be missed, and it's purportedly shooting at 5 MP.
Looking at the calendar, April graces the world next week, at this could be the earliest time when LG finally shows off its newest bearer. Having skipped the Mobile World Congress, the LG G4 is expected for an April launch, TechRadar cited.
Unless LG confirms, all these things are best taken with careful pinches of salt.
With powerful specs and features under the hood, the LG G4 will retail around $1,000 USD, lgg4updates.com predicted.
