It seems like Johnny Manziel will be getting a chance at a television stint after reports surfaced that he and the entire Cleveland Browns will be part of the HBO reality show series "Hard Knocks."
A tweet from Buffalo Bills' writer Vic Carucci reads, "Hearing the #Browns are front-runners for next featured team on HBO Hard Knocks series.".
ESPN added that the eligible teams for the show will have a meeting with NFL Films within the week for them to discuss details of the series, with the final decision to be announced later on.
"Hard Knocks" is a reality sports documentary produced by the NFL and HBO. IMDB said each season of the show features and follows an NFL team during their training camp as they prepare for the upcoming season.
ESPN said there is a chance that the Browns would be reluctant to be featured in the show, especially with Manziel's decision to go to rehab.
The Dallas News report noted that the team already turned down the offer last year.
"It was for the same reason we didn't feel super comfortable having a camera in the draft room. Let's get through the first time, let's get through the first year. There are positives and negatives to doing it. It's not something I would say we'd never do, partly because the league can make us do it," coach Mike Pettine was quoted by Dallas News as saying.
However, if the team decides to join the show, ESPN said it would be "a fun opportunity."
"Coach Mike Pettine is interesting and honest and the Browns would have the chance to show a lot of their personalities -- from Karlos Dansby to Andrew Hawkins to Joe Thomas, who has one very droll sense of humor," ESPN wrote.
Washington Post, in a similar article, said that Manziel will have a lot of time to be featured in the show as he is expected to return to training camp after he leaves rehab in April.
Manziel seems to be an interesting subject for "Hard Knocks" as he was known to be a "hard partying icon" in the league. It would also be interesting to see if he'll be able to join the starting lineup next season.
Washington Post recalled that the NFL player "suffered through a disastrous rookie season with the Browns" prompting him to enter rehab with still unclear reasons this January.
