The news of iOS 8.2's arrival may have been sweet for most Apple users, but for the ever-hardworking jailbreakers, it may not be enough.

Followers would remember that Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL), with goals in its mind, has effectively killed PanGu's jailbreak for iOS 8.1.1.

However, as recent events turned out, the jailbreak for the latest software update is believed to be underway, KpopStarz reported.

According to the outlet, it is slated for release after March 27, following the 2015 Mobile Security Summit (MSS) in Beijing.

MuscleNerd, a jailbreak developer, tweeted caution, "Jailbreakers stay away from today's 8.2 update for now, or you will get burned."

Now the biggest question is yet to be answered: Are we going to get an iOS 8.2 jailbreak? For a reference, let's flip the calendar back to 2014:

When Apple launched the iOS 8 in September and iOS 8.1 in October, it didn't take much time before PanGu released a jailbreak. The system has been available for both firmwares, iDownloadBlog noted.

Then again, as we have previously covered, Apple has killed the jailbreak shortly. Chinese developer team TaiG eventually came into picture and released a new untethered jailbreak tool.

Much to the delight of anticipating jailbreakers, TaiG's system supported a wide range of Apple's devices, including the iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5C, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad 4, iPad, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad mini, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3 and the fifth-generation iPod touch.

While the tool's capacity seemed impressive, the TaiG team's credibility did not escape skeptic eyes. MuscleNerd then said, "Nothing too unsettling with that TaiG JB... Just some light device fingerprinting."

At the time, TaiG became very promising, for it even dished out plans of supporting iOS 8.2. International Business Times took note of the team's statement, "In fact, support of iOS 8.2 has been completed by TaiG, as 8.2 is still at beta stage, we have disabled support for 8.2 in current public release."

Today, iDownloadBlog is convinced that a jailbreak may not appear yet, but Semaphore's TinyUmbrella provides a shining glimpse of hope. It is pegged to allow manual downgrading to jailbreakable iOS firmwares, and this is what jailbreakers need to get started.

Contrary to KpopStarz's report, iDownloadBlog cited rumors, which speculate the jailbreak's arrival exactly in the MSS.

The iOS 8.2 arrives as an automatic update to supported Apple devices. To manually check, go to Settings > General > Software Update. As told by Forbes, at least 50% battery capacity is needed to proceed with installation.
