The Philadelphia Eagles acquired Sam Bradford from the St. Louis Rams but not everyone is happy about the team's decision.
Some claimed that the Eagles were allegedly just using him as a "trade chip" to the Tennessee Titans for them to move up in the upcoming draft and acquire Marcus Mariota.
These surfacing rumors, according to Eagles coach Chip Kelly, are not real. "No. We didn't entertain anything with Sam. We did not bring Sam in here to be a [trade] chip. I'm the only Chip here," he said, according to SB Nation.
The report added that Kelly was really interested in getting Bradford because he liked him and that he is up with a long-term relationship with the team.
But what are the team's plans for Mariota, exactly?
Fan Sided noted that the Eagles have been wanting to get Mariota for some time already. The same report discussed that there is something up with the Eagles' plan after they traded running back LeSean McCoy and replaced him with Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray.
"Mark Sanchez was re-signed as a backup quarterback, with Bradford currently being penciled in as the starter. It just doesn't seem right that Kelly is interested in changing up his system for an injury-prone quarterback like Bradford," added Fan Sided in its report.
With this fact considered, it seems Kelly has a bigger plan in getting Bradford into the team. SB Nation said some coaches in the NFL are also doubting Kelly's explanation and they are still not discounting the fact that the player may just be used to get Mariota.
Though Kelly maintained that the team already turned down an offer from a team willing to give up a first round pick for Bradford, SB Nation said the Titans may be assuming that they will be offered "a more tempting deal."
If Kelly is telling the truth, Fan Sided said Bradford could be viewed as a good starter for the team and he could give the Eagles an advantage during the games.
But as the draft continues, the public should expect more rumors on Bradford's availability as his current team badly wants to get into the playoff and his presence is a questionable key to that goal, as some reports say.
Fan Sided maintained that trading him to the Titans still "make a lot of sense" giving the team a young quarterback which Kelly really wants for the Eagles. But these will still remain as rumors without the Eagles making another move into the trade and with them continuing to defend their acquisition of Bradford.
