A number of interesting reports centered on the LG G4 have surfaced recently. The latest of them pegs the new flagship to come with a 5.6-inch display.
Looking at its possible rivals, the purported LG G4 looks to be larger than the iPhone 6 Plus (5.5-inch) and the Samsung Galaxy S6 (5.1-inch).
As told by GSMArena, the 5.6-inch LG G4 is expected to launch next month. This information on the handset's size comes from a source known to have leaked earlier renders.
While we're seeing display details, the LG G4's resolution remains unknown. GSMArena predicts that it could offer 2K or 3K resolution.
Last week, the Tech Times reported about a phablet called the LG G4 Note. The device is touted to accompany the standard flagship this year, though it is unknown whether it launches alongside or settles on a separate date.
Just like the LG G4, the LG G4 Note is expected to arrive with a 3K screen. This looks to be a resolution worth 1620 x 2880 pixels.
The Korea Herald wrote, "The sources said Thursday that G4 may not be the only flagship handset of LG Electronics this year as it has a new phablet, called the G4 Note, in the works."
"The smartphone-maker has already applied for a trademark of the phablet at the Korean patent office last month," the source added.
LG is believed to undergo a period of "perfecting the new phone," and this could explain why the LG G4 has not appeared in the recent Mobile World Congress.
At the event, Android-bearing giants such as the Samsung Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge and HTC One M9 have been unwrapped. Prospects remain in waiting for the Sony Xperia Z4 and of course, LG's next flagship.
The LG G4 is previously rumored to own a smaller, 5.3-inch screen. The rest of its unofficial specs include Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB / 64 GB storage options, Qi-enabled wireless charging, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 and Android 5.0 Lollipop support.
Speculations have it that the device packs a 16 MP main camera and a 5 MP front snapper. Note, however, that previous reports also mentioned a 20 MP camera supported with OIS and Laser Tech.
We've also heard about a certain "dual-camera" set-up that's reminiscent of HTC's One M8.
The LG G3 houses a 13 MP main camera, supporting a resolution of 4160 x 3120 pixels. The device comes with a 5.5-inch display, packing a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels.
In terms of price, Android Pit predicted that the LG G4 "will set you back at least 600 USD."
