Following its recent "Spring Forward" event, Apple could be looking forward to launch its next iDevice, recent reports suggested.
According to the Christian Post, speculations have it that the iPad Mini 4 takes off its wraps next month, followed by a market release in September or October.
The iPad Mini 4 joins the list of this year's purported Apple tablets, alongside the iPad Air 3 and the 12-inch iPad Pro (aka iPad Air Plus). As these have not been confirmed, all surfacing information, unless verified by the Cupertino giant, are best taken with a grain of salt.
As we have previously noted, the iPad Mini 4 is pegged to arrive with an A8 processor and 802.11 ac Wi-Fi support. The latter is known to be today's Wi-Fi standard, offering up to 1733 Mbps of wireless Internet connection on a 5 GHz frequency band.
In comparison, predecessor iPad Mini 3 packs an A7 chipset, powered by a dual-core 1.3 GHz Cyclone CPU. It comes with a dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n support feature.
The iPad Air 2, on the other hand, houses the newer A8X processor. This 64-bit chip is known to offer 2.5 times faster GPU and 40% faster CPU performance, Gotta Be Mobile noted. The outlet is convinced that the iPad Mini 4, this time, may ship with an A9 processor, coupled with 2 GB of RAM.
Rumors have suggested that the original iPad Mini and the recent iPad Mini 3 will soon be out of the market. The iPad Mini 3 is believed to be a disappointment, looking at the fact that its only upgrades included Touch ID and a gold color option. The rest of its specs are said to be similar to the iPad Mini 2.

Hence, word along the grapevine has it that the iPad Mini 2 remains in its bloodline, welcoming a more upgraded iPad Mini 4. Apple has neither confirmed nor killed these speculations yet.
At this point, details about the iPad Mini 4's design are scarce. However, it is rumored to draw much of its visual inspiration from the iPad Air 2. The iPad Air 3 is touted to get a thinner profile as well. For a baseline, the iPad Air 2 is the world's second-thinnest tablet at 6.1 mm. The iPad Mini 3 has a depth of 7.5 mm.
As for the iPad Pro, reports seem to indicate that the device will come with a sharp depth of 7 mm. An earlier leak has pointed to a measurement of 305.3 mm x 220.8 mm x 7.0 mm.
GBM expects the iPad Mini 4 to start at $399, citing the possibility of the iPad Mini 3 dropping to $299 and the iPad Mini 2 to $249.
