Rumors of Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson's request for trade has continuously been circling the NFL world and it has been said that his first option are the Arizona Cardinals.
The Cardinals, according to Arizona Sports, would not think twice in acquiring him as they have failed to perform their best in the previous season.
Yahoo Sports' Charles Robinson recently said that that signing with Arizona is "feasible."
"A couple of things have to happen here. Number one, Adrian Peterson met with (Vikings) ownership earlier this week, and from what I understand he's still not satisfied with his situation in Minnesota," Robinson was quoted by Arizona Sports as saying over the radio.
He added that while Peterson is not satisfied, he would want to play someplace else. "His number one option is still the Arizona Cardinals. But the Cardinals can create a space here for themselves if they can convince Minnesota that they can give them something of value, which would be draft picks or whatever," Robinson added.
An earlier SB Nation report said that it has been a while since the Cardinals have decided to "make a run" for Peterson who, according to some reports, is willing to restructure his contract if he will go to Arizona.
Peterson is a sought after player in the NFL as Bucs Nation said that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers also want to trade for him with "aggressive plans in place" just to acquire him. The same report noted that Peterson also expressed intention to go to Tampa, among other teams in the NFL.
This news, however is a bit "odd" according to Bucs Nation, noting that that team has just tendered Bobby Rainey with a $1.5 million contract and they also have Doug Martin, Chales Sims and Mike James on their lineup. These guys can surely provide a stable gameplay for the team. It is believed that the Bucs do not really have "a back they can truly hang their hat on," as Bucs Nation put it, thus the interest on the Vikings running back.
Peterson is considered to be one of the best there is in the field due to his tenure but he is also one of the most controversial players. He pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge for beating his son with a switch. This year, Bucs Nation said he is expecting to make $13 million with an additional $4 million for the next two years.
He has to prove that he is worth every dime a team pays for him as he has been really hyped and sought for in the league.
