Golden Age Mexican actress Magda Guzman has died on Thursday at the age of 83.

The actress, also known as María Magdalena Guzmán Garza, died of a heart attack. Her granddaughter, Magda Karina, confirmed the sad news on Twitter.

"See you soon, my favorite warrior, my grandmother Magda Guzmán has just left on a trip to see Father God," she wrote, as quoted by Fox News Latino. "Fly high, my love, I love you. My adored grandmother, Magda Guzmán, is arriving in heaven to act in her most important role with God."

Guzmán starred in a number of famous telenovelas like "Rosa Salvaje," "Valeria y Maximiliano," "Tú o Nadie," "Rina," "Muchacha Italiana Viene A Casarse," "Bodas de Odio," and "Yesenia," Latin Times reported.

She also starred in "Para Volver a Amar," "En Nombre Del Amor," "Tormenta En El Paraíso," "Alborada," "Mi Destino Eres Tú," "La Usurpadora," and "Te Sigo Amando." Her most recent TV show was "Amor Bravío" opposite Silvia Navarro and Christián de la Fuente, Fox News Latino added.

Her work in "La Duda" or "Doubt" and "La Vida No Vale Nada" or "Life Isn't Worth Anything" earned her two acting nominations at the Ariel Awards back in the 1950s, Fox News Latino noted. The award giving body is the Mexican equivalent of Hollywood's Academy Awards.

The legendary actress was born in Saltillo, Coahuila, on May 18, 1931. She worked with the biggest names in show business such as Silvia Derbez, Fanny Schiller, Alicia Montoya, Sara García, Rafael Banquells, and Pedro Infante in film, theater, and television productions. She also starred in "Con quien andan nuestras hijas?" in 1956 with Ernesto Alonso, according to a separate report from Fox News Latino.

Through social media, Guzmán's fans and fellow actors remember the late actress and her contributions to the industry. Her former co-stars like Lucía Méndez, "La Usurpadora" star Gaby Spanic, Daniela Romo, Alberto Ciurana, Natalia Sosa, and Sebastián Rulli have expressed their condolences for the actress' family, Latin Times reported.

"God the redeemer keep heaven in peace a great luminary Magda Guzmán. RIP! My deepest condolences to her family and friends," Spanic tweeted, as quoted by Latin Times.

The actress is survived by "daughter and telenovela director Karina Duprez, daughter Mirtha, sons Gerardo and Carlos, as well as three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren," Fox News Latino wrote. The Mexican star was the sister of actor Roberto Guzman, who died of cerebral hemorrhage in August 2002.
