Published by Bandai Namco Games, "Godzilla: The Game" is expected to arrive in July, exclusive for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. The announcement has been made through an official trailer unveiled in February.

At this point, we're bringing a rundown of everything you need to know about the title, before landing as scheduled. Let's get started:

Story

"Godzilla: The Game" is an action franchise developed by Natsume, IGN noted. The title draws inspiration from "Godzilla, the King of the Monsters," which first aired in the 1950's.

Godzilla is known by fictional scientists to possess the so-called "G-Energy," a source of power that's bound to aid humanity in the coming years.

Just as when everything seemed to fall on their proper places, Godzilla appears 60 years later, in search for the energy harnessed from him. With mercy out of the picture, the monster seems to spare no one.

The G-Force is said to be mankind's last hope, and we're left in the cliff to think how the monster may be stopped once and for all.

Features & Gameplay

"Godzilla: The Game" has four major features, PlayStation Lifestyle cited. These include (1) Destruction, (2) Movie Style Action, (3) Multiple Modes and (4) Power-Up.

Destruction encourages players to destroy as much buildings and structures as possible, in order to maximize G-Energy. This, however, comes with a word of warning.

When more buildings are taken down, the Hazard Level only becomes greater. This translates to the coming of "legendary monsters."

Destruction also lets players take the Energy Generator before moving to another area.

Movie Style Action is one feature that allows players to use a special Movie-Style Camera Angle System. This technology provides viewing of pre-set locations.

Alternatively, players can opt to use special camera points, which allow cinematic control over Godzilla.

Multiple Modes include a (1) Mission Mode, (2) Diorama Mode and (3) King of Monsters Mode. Needless to say, the last certainly sounds the most exciting mode one can come across at. IGN took note of its description as "a time trial of chaos!"

Power-Up is hit when players collect G-Energy across every stage. Godzilla's abilities are easily represented by his size, which spans from 50 m to 100 m in length.

Note that the game invites users to bash through 20 stages. Godzilla's offensive and defensive powers are said to increase with size.

Price

For $59.99 (PS4), "Godzilla: The Game" is available to purchase at GameSpot. PS3 owners can only purchase at the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Lifestyle noted.
