A substantial portion of the electronics industry may have been unsettled when OnePlus, a Chinese startup company, launched the OnePlus One in 2014. The device has been dubbed to be the "Nexus Killer," and among other reasons, its total package should testify why.
At this point, speculations aimed at the OnePlus One's successor have been rampant. It doesn't need a genius to expect that this model is called the OnePlus Two, and according to Ubergizmo.com, CEO Carl Pei has mentioned that it arrives "in about six months."
We move our eyes to the calendar to get an expected release date of September or October.
Interestingly, Christian Today reports that OnePlus aims to bring a device that's "neither going to be a smartphone, wearable or tablet."
This is certainly a bold detail, because for a fact, we know that its predecessor IS a smartphone. We could be looking at the growing hybrid trend, where we can easily think of Microsoft's Surface Pro "laplets."
In an earlier article, Know Your Mobile cites reports, which claimed that the OnePlus Two ships with a metal frame -- granting more premium look and feel.
OnePlus has also expressed its desire to run its very own Android-based operating system, known as the Oxygen OS.
When asked why they have to build their own OS, OnePlus explains, "By doing so, we can offer better localization and faster updates. We can directly implement user feedback and make it easy for the OnePlus community to shape our ROM and create the OS that they want to use."
OnePlus expresses its value of battery life and system efficiency, promising that the OS "will not ship with any bloatware." Now that's worth looking forward to.
Word along the grapevine has it that the OnePlus Two packs a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, 4 GB of RAM, Qualcomm Snapragon 805 / 810, 32 GB of onboard storage, 3100 mAh battery cell, 16 MP main camera and 5 MP front snapper.
In comparison, the OnePlus One has a 5.5-inch display, 1080 x 1920 resolution, Snapdragon 801 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 16 GB / 64 GB storage options, 3100 mAh non-removable battery, 13 MP main camera and 5 MP front snapper.
The OnePlus Two is pegged to sell greater than its predecessor, as far as the Business Insider's sources had been concerned.
The outlet wrote, "Although our source tells us the new model will probably be more expensive than OnePlus One, our source from November said it's still likely to be cheaper than most off-contract flagship phones."
What do you think of the OnePlus Two's unofficial specs? How is it purported to become a hybrid device? Sound off in the comments section.
