Matt Murdock may be Daredevil, but there's someone else who wants to save New York other than the vigilante, and it may not be for the most heroic of intentions.

Rolling Stone reported that the first full trailer for Marvel's "Daredevil" is focused on Wilson Fisk (aka Kingpin) and he starts with his own declaration for his purpose: "I used to dream what it would be like far away from Hell's Kitchen. But the city...it's in my blood. And I would do anything to make it a better place."

The new clip presents a side of New York past the glitz and the glamour to the grittier, uglier city that the Daredevil is set out to defend and protect.

According to the magazine, the series offers a peek at how Matt Murdock became the superhero that he is. While trying to defend his city, Murdock also pronounced: "Sometimes the difference between the two is a sharp line. Sometimes it's a blur. Sometimes we have to do things outside of the law."

The trailer gives a dark, gritty tone to an equally gritty story of a man who was blinded as a boy in a tragic chemical accident but left him with other senses heightened, set to fight against injustice in his neighborhood in Hell's Kitchen, New York, as a lawyer by day, and a vigilante at night.

This is not the first adaptation of "Daredevil" in recent years. Business Insider noted that the critically panned movie version of the 2003 film starring Ben Affleck grossed over $180 million at the global box office and inspired a spin-off, titled "Elektra."

There are some Easter eggs to look for in the trailer: according to Comic Book, the opening shot seems to include Tony Stark's headquarters for the Avengers, which would give justice to the quip made by Wesley Welch, "Maybe if he had an iron suit or magic hammer that would explain why you keep getting your asses handed to you."

Later on, there is also a shot of a newly minted sign for the law firm headed by Matt Murdock and his best friend and partner, Foggy Nelson. The popularity of the firm was expected to make it into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, although many did not expect it to open its doors in the first season.

Finally, a shot of the accident that blinded Murdock as a boy was also seen, although... was that Ben Affleck in the split-second shot after?

The Netflix series, which will air on April 10 stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk. Ayelet Zurer, Bob Gunton, Toby Leonard Moore, and Vondie Curtis-Hall are also expected to make appearances.
