There's no stopping the LG G4.
As recent reports suggest, the company has set its eyes on conducting heavy promotions for its next flagship, set to rival the newly-established Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.
Needless to say, the device also falls in the same timezone as the HTC One M9 and the earlier iPhone 6 / 6 Plus, so the competition just smells even better. Bear in mind that we're also waiting for Sony's Xperia Z4.
Citing information from the Korea Times, Phone Arena reported that LG seeks to run a "heavy promotional campaign" in Europe, Korea and the United States. Reportedly, the company aims to sell at least 10 million LG G4 units on a global scale.
For those who may not know, the LG G4 is expected to arrive the earliest next month. As to how the new flagship looks like, Phone Arena said, "LG has told us that the smartphone will be very different from its predecessor, offering re-imagined design and user experience in addition to cutting-edge hardware."
Interestingly, the LG G4 pegs to own traits reminiscent of the iPhone 6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6.
For one, the device is touted to pack its own fingerprint scanner, believed to be located on its posterior body. Location aside, this reminds us of Apple's Touch ID, though we're up to hear more details.
The Christian Post cited one informer who said, "LG Electronics has recently decided to deploy a fingerprint sensor on its next flagship smartphone and the scanner will be placed at the back of the device."
It's also intriguing to think that one handset model number, supposedly the LG G4, has been spotted twice in different occasions (late February and early March). In another article, Phone Arena noted that the device comes with Android 5.1 (LMY29F) on board.
To make things more interesting, the smartphone is said to house a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels -- the same display packed in the Galaxy S6.
More recently, an alleged press render of the LG G4 has found its way to Twitter, turning prying eyes alert. According to GSMArena, the render appears to look highly similar to its predecessor, though we can't help but notice the seemingly-flexed architecture sported by the design.
Touted to measure 148.9 x 76.5 x 9.9 mm, the render looks like an LG G Flex hybrid, too.
The LG G4 is allegedly packing Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chip, 3 GB of memory, 16 GB / 32 GB of storage, 16 MP OIS camera and 4K video capabilities, TechRadar wrote.
In terms of price, the device is believed to deviate from its predecessor's "affordable price point."
Could LG meet its goal of becoming the world's third-largest smartphone manufacturer?
