Quick recap on the star quality of Chris Evans and Chris Pratt: the actors, who play massively popular superheroes in blockbuster films made a bet before the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots game at the Super Bowl. Since they support rival teams, (Pratt for Seahawks, Evans for Patriots) they decided to enter a bet that will benefit two local charities, in a Twitter exchange.
According to the New York Daily News, the stars bet that if the Patriots win, Pratt will visit Christopher's Haven, an organization that houses kids with cancer and their families, in his Star-Lord costume, and if the Seahawks win, Evans will wear his Captain America costume in a visit for Seattle's Children's Hospital.
A few days after the Patriots' victory, both Chrises went to Boston to make good on their deal, with Pratt wearing a Patriot's jersey underneath his Star Lord red leather jacket.
However, they decided to visit both charities anyway and on Saturday, Chris Pratt turned up in Seattle Children's Hospital with Captain America in tow.
According to CNN, Chris Evans, who donned his superhero costume, came bearing gifts of Marvel action figures and accessories for the children.
Seattle Children's Hospital said about the visit, "Meeting Captain America and Star-Lord is an experience our patients will always remember. The kids were beyond excited to meet Captain America and Star-Lord."
One of the patients that the Chrises met was seven-year-old Oskar Beechum, who has been in the hospital for four months for his epilepsy treatment. Oskar's mother, Kelli said about the visit, "Meeting them was a nice reprieve for us. So many of our visitors are doctors, and the conversations are medical. I can't wait to watch the Captain America movie with Oskar. It will be like he knows him personally now."
They also met Tyler Gower, a 14-year-old with acute myeloid leukemia. Tyler's mom, Allison said that the family was speechless with the visit, saying in a statement, "We were so surprised. It gave Tyler five minutes of happiness. This situation will never be normal, but their visit helped make us feel special."
Maggie Mittelstaedt, an 18-year-old who is recovering from a hip replacement didn't shy away from expressing her gratitude to the actors, saying, "It really brightened my day! I am a huge fan and they were so nice to spend time with me."
The children were not the only ones who were inspired by the visit. The same went for Evans, who tweeted, "AMAZING day at @seattlechildren w @prattprattpratt. Met some TRUE super heroes! Feeling inspired, blessed, touched. Thank you w all my heart."
