A veteran of the wrestling universe may soon find his way fighting inside a WWE ring, Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer claimed.
Although briefly, Wrestling Inc. mentioned that a deal might be worked out soon to inject Samoa Joe to the WWE roster. What Culture reported that the deal could be worked out within this Spring.
"Theres going to be something with WWE, he is in theory WWE bound in some form, or at least attempting to be WWE bound," Meltzer said, per the report.
Fans wanted him in the WWE lineup since he ended his streak with TNA only on Feb. 17, noted Fansided.
According to a Wrestlezone profile, the wrestler, given name Nuufolau Joel Seanoa, is known for the Muscle Buster, and has been in Pro Wrestling since September 1999.
He is also known by many other names -- The Samoan Suplex Machine, The Samoan Submission Machine, King Joe, Samoan Joe, Joe Seanoa and The Nation of Violence, the report added.
We found three reasons this could happen.
[1] Triple H
According to the Wrestling Inc. brief, there is no deal signing yet, but citing a F4WOnline, it noted that his membership is sure. Wrestlezone noted a WWE connection: Triple H is a big fan of his, and he might be the brains behind the talks.
The rumor mill began churning on the Triple H angle since Samoa Joe announced free agency, said Fansided.
That connection could mean the former TNA mainstay will be with NXT, noted What Culture, explaining that Triple H had a powerful hand in it.
It added that he could land a main roster or trainer spot.
[2] No big deals in the future
From a legal standpoint, there is no stopping the deal.
Wrestling News Source reported that Samoa Joe competed in the WWE in 2001, and is just currently fulfilling a contract with Ring of Honor for matches stretching until the end of March.
What Culture had different details that could push the dates a little later -- he has indie matches until April 23. But that coincides with the date of NXT tapings. (Refer to Reason 1.)
[3] Experience
Aside from the wrestling engagements noted above, Joe also worked in Japan, and WWE is possibly the last league to get his hands dirty on, said What Culture. He'll be turning 36 in mid-March, so it really is now or never for both sides to agree a deal.
In his career, he held several titles.
He has been with Ultimate Pro Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Zero and Pro Wrestling Noah, as well. He held a long list of titles, among them the NWA Intercontinental Tag Team Championship, TNA World Heavyweight Championship, TNA X-Division Championship (4 times), Triple Crown Championship, UPW No Hold Barred Championship (2 times) and UWA Tag-Team Championship (2 times), per WrestleZone.
Perhaps the biggest deciding factor would be his personal choice -- but What Culture noted that Joe was himself attempting to get in. Based on his age, the report noted, it is now or never on so many levels.
