When Benedict Cumberbatch married Sophie Hunter last month, the newlyweds didn't have the chance to properly celebrate with a honeymoon immediately - after all, he's been nominated in different awards shows which is also the perfect opportunity to show off his lovely bride on the red carpet.

However, now that things have cooled down, Cumberbatch and his wife are now on their honeymoon in a five-star resort in Bora Bora, and according to sources for E! News, the couple was happily in love.

An eyewitness said, "Benedict looked so excited to be there and was snapping pictures with his camera. "They were given pineapple-infused water and beautiful flower leis that they immediately put around their necks and smelled the fresh flowers."

A source also added, "They lounged around on their deck everyday and went swimming in the clear water. They had breakfast on the deck in the morning and it lasted for hours. Then they napped on side by side on their chaise lounges. Benedict went snorkeling whenever he could and Sophie relaxed and put her feet up. She is well into her pregnancy and looked happy to have down time."

According to People magazine, the couple married last Valentine's day at the St Peter and St Paul's Church in Mottistone, with a reception at Mottistone Manor after. The "Sherlock" star announced his engagement to Hunter last November away from the scrutinizing online media, and in a more traditional way by putting an announcement on paper.

The post on London's The Times read, "The engagement is announced between Benedict, son of Wanda and Timothy Cumberbatch of London, and Sophie, daughter of Katharine Hunter of Edinburgh and Charles Hunter of London."

In January, it was announced that Cumberbatch and Hunter are expecting their first child together, as Cumberbatch's rep shared in a statement, "I am delighted to confirm that Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are expecting their first child. They are both over the moon."

Before their 10-day honeymoon in Bora Bora, the couple was also spotted in a whale-watching excursion at the Pacific, as reported by The Daily Mail. The actor also shared his excitement about being a father when he told the website, "I've been on muddy fields and on horseback playing Richard III for the BBC and I've been on more flights to Los Angeles and back than I can count. All of that has been special, but I'm ready to have a couple of months to ourselves to prepare for the baby and do some nesting. It's a real-life role, not a part."

It seems like Benedict Cumberbatch is in a state of wedded bliss, but don't worry: News Everyday reported that the actor will definitely be back for the next season of the beloved detective series.
