By now, most people know that "Once Upon a Time" is a more twisted version of Disney's classic fairy tales come to life, and for the rest of season 4, more characters from the beloved animated classics are making appearances, although "beloved" might be a matter of perspective.

According to the International Business Times, after three months of hiatus, OUAT returns with plenty of changes in the quaint little town of Storeybrooke, and it starts with Emma (Jennifer Morrison) learning to control her magic with the help of Elsa (Georgina Haig), and she finally agrees to help Regina (Lana Parrilla) and Henry (Jared S. Gilmore) find the Author of the story book so that Regina can finally have her happy ending with Robin Hood (Sean Maguire).

Then there are the new characters that you may love or hate (depending on your personal take about their type) and they will cause a riot in Storeybrooke as they decide that they too, want their own happy endings.

These characters, of course, are known as the "Queens of Darkness" - Maleficent (Kristin Bauer van Straten), Cruella De Vil (Victoria Smurfit), and Ursula (Merrin Dungey).

According to Zap2It, creators have always wanted these villains in the show. Creator Eddie Kitsis told the website, "Maleficent was previously on the show. We always wanted to get back to her. Ursula we kind of set up a bit and teased a bit in the Ariel episode. Cruella -- we just liked her. There's a sass to her."

She also added, "We wanted Gold to take the lesson of the heroes that they need to band together and realize that he needs to band together with the villains. We just love the idea of the team of evil."

According to the website, the idea for introducing these villains and showing their back stories is to determine how we determine heroes and villains - there could be more to the Queens of Darkeness, while the team we've been rooting for from the start - Snow and Prince Charming, could end up not as valiant as we originally thought them to be.

There is one thing that fans can count on the return of OUAT though - as Hollywood Life noted, Hook and Emma are still very much together and they're finally in a good place, so that's one OTP that fans won't have to let go of.

What do you think of the plans for the rest of Season 4 so far?
