Two unbeatable women fighters in the UFC are ready to face off at Staples Center in Los Angeles on Saturday night.
Ronda Rousey is gearing up to defend her 2-year UFC bantamweight title against Cat Zingano in the main event of UFC184, Daily Mail reported.
According to Yahoo! Sports, Rousey, who has had 10-0, 10 finishes, and Zingano, with 9-0, eight finishes, are among those rare undefeated championship bouts in UFC history. The other matches with both unbeaten opponents were Rashad Evans-Lyoto Machida for the light heavyweight title at UFC 98 in 2009 and Rousey-Sara McMann at UFC 170 last year, the report added.
When asked about her impending fight with Zingano, Rousey has the utmost confidence that she would win the match just like she did in 2014.
"I know that Cat brings so many weapons to the table that I will be ready to deal with every single one of them," the 28-year-old martial artist and actress said, as quoted by Daily Mail. "And that's what makes it such an exciting fight; there isn't one clear quick cut way to go to finish it. And so I really think that's what makes it exciting, you don't know where it's going to go but I can finish her anywhere and I will find a way."
Rousey, who appears in the film "The Expendables," also praised her opponent's resilience and endurance in her matches, adding that she would definitely keep Zingano's strengths in mind during their fight.
"She's not one of those people that can be intimidated so I won't even bother. She's one of those people that has to be finished all the way until the very, very end and I'm ready for that. I'm ready for a five-round war if it needs to be that way. I'm still going to be the better fighter that night regardless of what happens," Rousey continued, as quoted by Daily Mail.
Rousey and Zingano's match is bound to be one of UFC's greatest and most star-studded fights. According to UFC president Dana White, celebrities expected to attend are Jennifer Lopez, Demi Lovato, Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, Mark Wahlberg, Maria Shriver, Edward Norton, Mandy Moore, Vin Diesel, Charlize Theron, Anthony Kiedis, Kellan Lutz, Schoolboy Q, Travis Barker, and many more, Yahoo! Sports noted.
Zingano's fight against Rousey had been building up since 2013, Daily Mail wrote, but was postponed when she suffered a knee injury which forced her to rest for 18 months. When Zingano recuperated, she won a third-round match against Amanda Nunes.
Speaking about challenging Rousey, Zingano insists that she has no fear and that she has "things to offer that people haven't seen before," the news outlet reported. She also added that she's pumped up to be the "underdog" in the upcoming fight.
