When Zack Snyder tweeted a photo of Jason Momoa as Aquaman recently, it sparked more rumors for the upcoming "Batman v. Superman' film - mainly that all seven members of the Justice League will be making appearances.
With Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Cyborg all confirmed to play their parts in the film, one last hero is needed to "Unite the Seven" and that can be no other than Green Lantern.
The other theory about Jason Momoa's teaser photo suggests that Aquaman will be uniting the seven seas, but that seems to be less likely than adding Green Lantern to the mix. After all, as Movie Pilot pointed out, there is a Green Lantern standalone film planned for 2020.
However, there is still no clue on who will be playing the ring-powered hero, and with the 2011 flop starring Ryan Reynolds, it's doubtful that he will be reprising the role (also, reboots usually mean they're changing the cast).
Not everyone agrees that Green Lantern will be making an appearance, though. Some fans, according to Fashion & Style, think that "Unite the Seven" could mean Aquaman's non-Justice League group of heroes, which, incidentally, has seven members as well.
The Comic Book website also said that the message of Momoa's poster really just means that he will unite the seven seas for two reasons: first, Aquaman is "King of the Seven Seas," and Snyder's tweet referred to him as the "One true King."
BadAss Digest noted that in the script, there was nothing noted for Green Lantern, and even Aquaman's and The Flash's appearances are more like cameos. However, the website acknowledged that with those in mind, it will be easy to add Green Lantern to the group no matter where they are in the filming process.
While everyone is abuzz with the possibility of Green Lantern's presence in "Batman v Superman," Hans Zimmer spoke about the plans for the film's soundtrack, and he said that the team is trying to create a theme for each superhero. However, as Slash Film pointed out, Zimmer will be focusing on Superman, Wonderwoman, and the others, while Junkie XL will be doing Batman's theme.
So, do you think Green Lantern will make it to the cut, or is Aquaman trying to unite more than just the Justice League?
"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will open in theatres on March 6, 2016.
