In a world where productivity spells bounty, one's working companions should always be at their best.
This year, a slew of interesting laptops are expected to be released. Apple, in particular, is pegged to come up with its newest MacBook Air Retina and 2015 MacBook Pros, all potentially bringing upgrades from their predecessors.
But the Cupertino giant doesn't play the game alone. Though it's structurally a tablet, the rumored Microsoft Surface Pro 4 could be the best in its family yet, as far as reports have spoken. At this point, the hybrid "laplet" is speculated to arrive in July, News Everyday wrote.
The entire Surface Pro line-up is celebrated for flexibility features -- tablets capable of functioning as laptops.
We've curated the latest talks on Surface Pro 4 in three important aspects, to see how they fare with the likewise-rumored MacBooks. Check them out below:
Display Size
According to The Fuse Joplin, the Surface Pro 4 is touted to arrive in two size variants. One of them is a larger 14-inch version, while the other packs a 12-inch display. Followers would remember that the current Surface Pro 3 is also offered in 12 inches.
Most reports centered on the MacBook Air Retina speculated that the laptop will come with a 12-inch screen -- the median of earlier 11- and 13-inch models. It seems like the Surface Pro 4 and MacBook Air Retina might share the same measurement.
On the other hand, the 2015 MacBook Pros are expected to retain their current sizes, 13 and 15 inches, respectively.
Storage Space
KDramaStars is convinced that the Surface Pro 4 may offer similar storage options as its predecessor. The outlet wrote, "In fact, it wouldn't be a surprise if the company reveals a Surface Pro 4 featuring a 1TB storage option for the first time."
The Surface Pro 3 is currently available in 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB storage options. A terabyte of space is undoubtedly massive, but not entirely new.
The existing MacBook Air lineup provides up to 512 GB of flash, while the MacBook Pros give 1 TB. The Surface Pro 4 looks to catch up.
LTE Support
In another report, News Everyday cited rumors, which claimed that the Surface Pro 4 comes with 4G LTE support. This, obviously, sounds great for the always-connected.
The MacBook Air Retina has since been speculated to pack 4G LTE support. If Microsoft kicks off the Surface Pro 4 with an LTE feature, then the laplet is certainly put to an immediate advantage.
However, note that neither Microsoft nor Apple has confirmed the rumored specs and features of the alleged devices.
The Surface Pro 4 is thought to sell between $1,000 to $2,000, Realty Today noted.
