As the fight of Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano nears, fans and the public are getting more and more curious with Zingano's background prior to sealing a fight with one of the greatest female MMA Fighters. Not known to everybody, Zingano might just be the "toughest" fighter in the UFC if fight records and life experiences will be taken into consideration.
Her recent life experiences were very painful as she had to deal with a "senseless, devastating tragedy," Yahoo Sports said in a report.
In 2013, she had to undergo treatment for a knee injury which devastated her, but that's nothing compared to how she had to deal with the passing of her husband Mauricio, who took his own life inside their Denver residence.
According to Yahoo Sports, Rousey's contender may have "gotten on with life" but it would be hard for her to truly move on with the tragic event that happened to her.
When talking about personal details in her life, Yahoo Sports said that Zingano is not yet really comfortable sharing these things to other people.
"There's a human nature that people need to respect and honor about my situation. If it becomes too much, then the interview is over. Period. If it is something that could be productive and helpful in our society and helpful in explaining the story, I'm just hoping it can impact people in a positive way. I'm absolutely more than willing to work with people to try to [be of assistance]," the UFC fighter told Yahoo Sports.
She added that she feels the overwhelming support of the MMA community, noting that the people there have "humanistic empathy."
"I don't know how many people have gone through struggles like this or are experiencing it now, but it's unique and in an odd sense, enlightening. Once you feel this kind of pain and suffer this kind of thing, it brings you to a different understanding of what life is about and what's important and who's important," Zingano added.
A similar Bloody Elbow report said that both fighters are now preparing for their match on Feb. 28. During their training day, Rousey reportedly showed quotes from her mom on her gym, one being "You're not just training to be the best in the world - you're training to be the best in the world on your worst day."
Rousey said her mother always told her to be "good enough to be the best in the world on your worst day and win every match twice."
Zingano, on the other, is being trained by Loren Landow who is giving her very hard body conditioning sessions to prepare her well for the fight against a very tough opponent.
