Fans were beside themselves with joy when rumors leaked over the weekend about actress Emma Watson dating a British Royal.

A report from Australian magazine, Woman's Day, said last weekend that Prince Harry and Emma have gone out on secret dates after he heard that she split with her boyfriend last year. It was said that he emailed her to say that he'd like to get to know the actress. The magazine even quoted a source saying that the royal is "smitten."

Support from fans around the globe rang out for the couple, as seen on Twitter. However, the "Beauty and the Beast" actress chose the same vessel to debunk the rumors once and for all by tweeting quite simply, "WORLD ♥ Remember that little talk we had about not believing everything written in the media?!"

She then then addressed the fact that she doesn't need Prince Harry, she already is a princess. She pointed out on the microblogging site, "also.....marrying a Prince not a prerequisite for being a Princess." Attached to the tweet is a link to a scene from Alfonso Cuaron's 1995 film, "A Little Princess."

The internet has been mad for the news, considering that for a long time now, fans and the media alike have been pushing for the pair. Unfortunately, they don't seem to have anything going on between them, so everyone can continue dreaming on their own instead.

Watson, broke up with her Oxford University boyfriend in December, and even though she was photographed with another Harry at the British Fashion Awards right after the split, a source for US Magazine said at the time that "she has no plans to date Harry Styles."

Prince Harry on the other hand, was most recently linked to Cressida Bonas, who had been his girlfriend of two years until they broke up in April 2014, but with whom he was spotted with again in September. According to E! News, he was also romantically linked to Camilla Thurlow, although not much is known about that relationship, either.

Prince Harry or no Prince Harry, Emma is still going to be a princess anyway, considering that she had been attached to a live-action version of "Beauty and the Beast" since 2011, as noted by the Huffington Post, when the project was still helmed by Guillermo del Toro, under Warner Bros. However, things did not work out, and four years later, she's still going to play the part of Belle for Disney's own live-action version, to be directed instead by Bill Condon. Production is set to begin later in the year.
