The latest update from Google's Android - the 5.0 Lollipop, is among the most important updates released in years. However, it is still in only 1.6% of the Android devices in use, at least, until older versions finally get updated.
According to BGR.com, just as people are getting used of the 5.0 version, an upgrade is already introduced in other markets, although it does not have as many new features as it should.
Phone Arena noted that the 5.2 version is already out and installed on a Nexus 5 device, but only for a benchmark test. With 5.1 being a minor update, 5.2 could be expected to add something major, however, details will have to wait. What GMS Arena did mention however, is that the jump from versions 5.1 and 5.2 is quite sudden, so there could be a major bug fix or feature to be added - or it's a totally false rumor.
However, as the International Business Times noted, the Nexus 5 was among the first to receive an upgrade to the Android 5.0 Lollipop when it was released last year, as well as the first to get the upgraded 5.0.1 version.
It has also been reported by iDigital Times that with Nexus 5 running on newer Android Lollipop versions, it can be assumed that the next Nexus line will be rolling out with the Android 5.1, with Nexus 6, Nexus 9, and of course, Nexus 5 getting updates ahead of other models.
The website mentioned that there probably won't be a naming convention for the Android Lollipop upgrades, however, it seems that word has gone around that the next Android flavor will be known as the Android M, expected to be announced at the Google I/O 2015.
The I/O, which is an event for developers, is set to help creative coders build the next big thing in Tech and Mobile, and the company uses it as an opportunity to launch their latest tech and models, as well as the expected announcements of the next Android OS flavor.
This year's I/O event, according to the official Google events site, will be held at the Moscone Center West, in San Francisco on May 28-29. Google also noted that those who can't be there can still join with Extended Events and Live Streaming with other developers.
What do you suppose is all the fuss for the Android 5.2 Lollipop, is it going to be a big upgrade, or will it merely be fixing bugs and give minor updates, many of which were overlooked in the 5.0 and 5.1 versions?
