Is a Selena Quintanilla MAC Cosmetics makeup line in the works?

While fans of the artist delight in this possibility, reports are claiming that the makeup line isn't definite yet. Styleite reports that a fan site, which goes by the name Selena La Leyenda, is petitioning for a limited edition Selena MAC makeup line to commemorate her 20^th death anniversary on March 31.

According to the petition published on Change.org, "Selena Quintanilla is an iconic legend in our community and would she be alive, she'd be a perfect MAC girl! Her music is still being played and is as relevant today as when she was alive."

The petition has now reached an estimate of 20,000 supporters. The author also posted a similar message on Instagram: "Selena fans! Don't you think it's time for MAC to sell a cosmetic in honor of Selena?? PLEASE help us SIGN this PETITION to help us get a new Selena cosmetic in MAC stores!! Link to sign is in my bio!! Please sign and share!!!!!"

Isabel and Ruben Toledo MAC makeup line

Earlier this month, fashion duo Isabel and Ruben Toledo launched a collection in partnership with MAC Cosmetics. According to Latina, the makeup line consists of "an impressive 45-pieces, including bright, lime green mascaras, a variety of red lipsticks, ombré blushes and much more."

The products also come in packages with black-and-white illustrations which are designed by Ruben Toledo himself. Latina noted that the artwork is a joint effort between him and his wife.

When asked why they decided to collaborate with MAC, Ruben said that it's because makeup is a newfound territory for them both.

"We've done a lot of different collaborations and we collaborate with each other, but to do makeup was like I don't know, it was grown up. It's real somehow," he said, as quoted by Latina. Isabel added that makeup gives "much more access to women in a way."

The duo also explained that the beauty and fashion industry "go hand-in-hand" and that makeup "is the beginning of fashion."

"You can wear the same garments, and yet, when you change a face, you've got a whole other feel. A whole other look," Isabel explained, as reported by Latina.

Isabel also revealed her favorite piece from their MAC collection. She confessed that she favors red lips above all else, which is why she uses the Opera Nordstrom all the time. According to Isabel, the lipstick, which costs $17.50, is "a very strong, beautiful red that has so many moods to it."
