Salma Hayek is the living proof that aging gracefully is indeed possible.

In her latest sexy photoshoot for The Edit magazine, the 48-year-old actress revealed that she's now feeling confident about her body more than ever, adding that her secret for maintaining her hourglass figure is not that complicated.

"I never exercised my whole life, but now I do yoga. I was always borderline chubby, because I like my food, and frankly, I like my wine," Hayek told The Edit, as quoted by E! News. "I have to say, I'm pushing 50 but I feel great. I looked worse in my youth! I'm in good shape right now."

She also explained that her physique does not fit easily into majority of the roles available for women in Hollywood.

"I'm quite short. I have an overly...wavy body. I'm not like the girl next door who is easy to cast. I don't fit into any of the stereotypes of a woman that should continue to work. I don't know what it is, but I don't think it has anything to do with planning. It has something to do with karma, maybe. I believe in karma," she explained, as reported by E! News.

The Mexican actress stars in the Joe Lynch action thriller "Everly," Daily Mail reported. The flick features Hayek as a former prostitute who gets trapped in her own home while her gangster ex-boyfriend tries to murder her. Hayek can be seen in the film's trailer firing guns in full force to escape her captors.

The movie star also revealed that her career is getting more active now and that this period is the busiest she has ever been, E! News noted. The actress has five films out this year.

"The funny thing is that I really don't even understand how [it all] came out. Maybe because when you don't want something as much, you're not desperate," she said, the news outlet quoted.

Hayek added, "If you think about it, I'm limited by the way I talk and by the way I look. I'm 48 years old. Amazing, talented people [stop finding work] at 32, 33 sometimes! Not so much in London, but in the U.S. it's crazy."

The actress is now married to Kering owner Francois-Henri Pinault, Daily Mail noted. Kering is the holding company of 17 high-end fashion labels including Gucci and Saint Laurent. Declaring herself as "not a fashionista," Hayek often gets asked why she came to date a prominent figure in the fashion industry such as Pinault. However, she claims that the differences between her and Pinault are "refreshing."

"Everly" premiered at Fantastic Fest last year. Its U.S. release date is scheduled on February 27, 2015, SlashFilm reported. Tickets can be purchased at Fandango.
