Chicago Bulls general manager Gar Forman said on Tuesday that they have no immediate plans of shaking up their roster following the season-ending injury sustained by superstar point guard Derrick Rose last week.

KC Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reported on Sunday that the Bulls could accelerate their attempt to trade All-Star forward Luol Deng, but Forman reiterated that there is no imminent move in sight for them.

Forman said that talking about potential trades is still premature at this point, saying that they are well-positioned to contend for a title this season and they are also in an ideal situation next summer.

"We're not going to make rash decisions," Forman said in an interview with Melissa Isaacson of ESPN Chicago. "We feel we have a bright future ahead and we're positioned well. We have good players in their 20s, Derrick is going to come back, we're positioned well with draft picks into the future and we have some level of flexibility which we haven't had under this new CBA."

Forman expressed confidence that the Bulls will remain competitive in the postseason this year, citing their performance against the Miami Heat in last season's playoffs. The Rose-less Bulls surprised the Heat in Game 1 of their semifinals showdown before the Heat swept the next four games.

When asked if he is also confident that Rose can still come back stronger and whether or not the Bulls should continue building the team around the former Most Valuable Player, Forman expressed no doubt that Rose is still a huge part of their future.

"Yeah, he's obviously a big, big part of our future. This was a freak injury. According to doctors, it had nothing to do with over-compensating or any type weakness or any type of fatigue. It was just a freak injury," Forman said.

Rose, who averaged 15.9 points and 4.3 assists in his first 12 games coming off an 18-month layoff due to an ACL injury, will miss the entire season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee.
