With UFC women's bantamweight Ronda Rousey set to face unbeaten Cat Zingano inside the Octagon on Feb. 28, at UFC 184, "Cyborg" Cristiane Justino is hoping that she will be able to go against Rousey in the near future.
Rousey's fight with Zingano is expected to be an easy one for her as Sports World News noted that she has beaten her last three opponents in less than a minute. This is despite Zingano's 9-0 record. If the public will be asked who will give the UFC champ a run for the title, the answer will surely be Justino.
Reports noted that UFC president Dana White has not considered bringing Cyborg into the UFC before but it seems that he has already changed his mind about the idea.
Sports World News explained that Justino is still fighting for Invicta and she is set to defend her featherweight title a night before Rousey's fight. The current setup, however, does not discourage Cyborg from fighting Rousey.
"I think this fight will happen. I think all the fans want to watch it, and the UFC wants to make this fight. But I am focused on my next fight now. Charmaine Tweet is my next opponent now," Justino told MMA Hour.
There are however a few setbacks on the possible fight between the two as Justino is 10 pounds above the UFC bantamweight limit. However, Sports World News said that she has already dropped enough weight to qualify in the featherweight category.
"You know, I believe anything is possible. I don't know. I'm trying a diet now, and [I was] before too, but before I had an injury. I'll try. If it doesn't happen at 135, we can make 145. I don't know. But I'm excited for this fight so I'm going to try my best for this fight to happen for all my fans, and for me and my family," she added.
Rousey's fight with Zingano, according to MMA Fighting, will be different as the former seems to regard her upcoming opponent with respect. The sports website noted that she's not so friendly with Miesta Tate or Cyborg. But, despite Rousey's seemingly amicable stance toward Zingano, her confidence dictates that she'll win the match.
On the other hand, Zingano's confidence is also unwavering.
"There's just nothing like me. There's not. They haven't seen anyone like me. She's the closest that there gets, but it's still different. I'm just more well-rounded, I have more heart, I have a lot of things going for me that people just haven't had a chance to see yet." ," she said as quoted by MMA Fighting.
Zingano has a tough work to finish Rousey during the fight as previous fights are testaments that she is a very strong contender.
