Nexus will receive the first Android Lollipop 5.1 update and not the Motorola devices, Master Herald states.

Previous reports have implied that Motorola lines will have the first touch on the Android Lollipop 5.1 update. However, Google's latest update has already been rolled out to Nexus 5, Nexus 6 and soon, Nexus 9.

"#AndroidLollipop rollout has started and will soon be available on most #Nexus devices. Dessert is served," Android's official Twitter account revealed in November.

The reason why Motorola was thought to receive Lollipop 5.1 was because there was a leaked photo via Tech-Droider which shows the Motorola Moto G 2014 running on an Android Lollipop 5.1 OS. The photo indicated a builder number "LXY22E" with an update date of Feb. 2.

Because of the leak, there were other reports which suggested that other Moto lines like the Moto E and Moto X would soon receive the update.

The introduction of Android Lollipop 5.0 has been problematic since a lot of bugs have occurred after the release, according to Christian Today. With this, Google is suspected to release the Android Lollipop 5.1 update this February.

In terms of the upgrade, the new Android Lollipop update is said to patch the previously reported bugs. One of the reported main issues of Lollipop 5.0 was its connectivity front. It is believed that Lollipop 5.1 will have improved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections alongside battery life and RAM improvements.

Users have also reported apps crashing with the Lollipop 5.0. This issue could also be covered in Lollipop 5.1

Another feature to be expected in the new update is Android's Silent mode which was reportedly removed when Google rolled out Lollipop 5.0.

Meanwhile, a new Android 5.1 update was traced back to the Philippines, according to Phone Arena.

This was also confirmed on Android's official Twitter page.

"#AndroidOne will be arriving in the Philippines in the coming weeks. Learn more at: https://goo.gl/fh5Ky8 "

Two locally made brands, Cherry Mobile One and MyPhone Uno, are said to house the new Android 5.1.

The two smartphones are closely comparable with 4.5-inch screens; 1 GB RAM; 4 GB internal storage for MyPhone Uno and 8 GB for the Cherry Mobile One. Additionally, they both have a quad-core Mediatek MT6582 SoCs. GSMArena states that "both phones are similar to the Android 5.1 devices sold elsewhere but have a newer version of software."

The Philippines has been the sixth country to receive the OS according to the report.

Indonesia has also received the Android update, according to First Post. New devices in Indonesia are said to be "pre-loaded with Android 5.1."
