Maná and Shakira's collaboration on "Mi Verdad" has claimed the no. 1 spot on Billboard's Latin Airplay Chart.
The music video of the track, which is Maná's first single from its upcoming album, was shot last year at a wine cellar in the outskirts of Barcelona, Spain, Billboard reported.
The clip was filmed before the pop singer gave birth to her second son named Sasha on January 29. The video features Shakira in a grey dress and shawl, with her hair in small braids. Just recently, she thanked Maná via a Facebook post for inviting her to sing in the track, which, as Billboard also noted, has become Shakira's first number 1 debut on the Billboard charts and the third for Maná's.
The song is produced by Maná's lead singer Fernando "Fher" Olvera and American Grammy-winning songwriter George Noriega, Fox News Latino noted. The track reportedly conveys "inspiration, peace, and unconditional love" and the "trying times" of humanity.
"Mi Verdad" will go on sale internationally on February 9 and will be available on digital platforms on February 10. It will also be the first single from Maná's ninth studio album, which is expected to come out in markets at a still unspecified date this year, Fox News Latino added. The album comes four years after the band's previous studio album, 2011's "Drama y Luz" or "Drama and Light."
"Mi Verdad" or "My Truth" is Shakira's first song to be released in Spanish since 2012. Her first single which was released in her native language was "I Can't Remember to Forget You," Huffington Post recalled.
Shakira and Gerard Pique's New Son
Shakira recently gave birth to her second son with football player Gerard Pique. The two also have another son, 2-year-old Milan.
According to the Daily Mail, the Colombian singer gave birth to her baby boy through a Caesarian section in late January. Shakira and Pique, who have been a couple since 2010, reserved an entire floor of the Hospital Quirón Teknon in Barcelona to ensure privacy for the birth. The baby was delivered by the same doctor and at the same location as their eldest son.
Maná to Perform in Rock and Rio USA
Maná has been included in the star-studded lineup of Rock in Rio that will take place in Las Vegas on May 8-9 and 15-16, 2015. According to the group's website, the band, composed of vocalist/guitarist Olvera, drummer Alex González, guitarist Sergio Vallín, and bassist Juan Calleros, will perform on the Main Stage during Rock and Rio's first weekend and will share the stage with No Doubt.
