Kobe Bryant had all the time in the world to plan for his Valentine's Day with wife Vanessa, whom he took to the sky in his personal helicopter.
It was a romantic ride for the couple over the weekend as they celebrated hearts' day alongside the clouds with the sun on their background, TMZ said. The view from the top was totally breathtaking that it did not stop Vanessa from taking selfies with his Lakers star husband. She also immediately uploaded their pictures on her Instagram account.
Sports World News added that this special gesture from Bryant was planned well since he "has plenty of time to pursue things off of the court" due to his rotator cuff injury which required surgery.
The same report added that the helicopter is personally owned by Bryant and he has been using it for a couple of years to travel from his Orange County residence to the Staples Center. This alternative mode of transportation surely takes the NBA player faster to his destination than taking the roads and enduring the traffic.
An earlier NBC Los Angeles said that this is another way for Bryant to maintain his physical strength and to quickly recover from his current injuries.
"The helicopter, therefore, ensures that he gets to Staples Center feeling fresh, that his body is warm and loose and fluid as mercury when he steps onto the court," the NBC Los Angeles noted. It added that the helicopter ride is a "practical" way to travel, and Bryant can definitely afford it anyway, since he makes quite a fortune of about $23 million a year.
Despite making a ton of money and his lavish lifestyle, Bryant still keeps his feet grounded and helps his friends in need. Yahoo Sports said that Bryant flew Lakers point guard Steve Blake in his helicopter to Orange County in 2012 when the latter suffered abdominal strain.
"It's something I've been dealing with for the last couple games. I've been trying to push through it, but [during Sunday's game] it was hurting pretty bad. I think I can try to play through anything, but I don't know if it would be good for me to try and play through it because it will probably never heal. It's one of those things where we have to make a decision," he told ESPN's Brian Kamenetzky in 2012..
This is something admirable for the basketball player who has proven that he uses his money and fame the right way.
Since he is out for the rest of the season, the public can expect more out-of-court activities from Bryant.
