The CW Network is giving their fans a two-for-one special for "Beauty and the Beast" fans, as the network announced that the 13-episode third season will premiere on Thursday, May 21 at 8/7c.

More than three months before the next season even premieres, the network has also renewed the show for a fourth season, despite the fact that, according to Woodford Times, it's not doing particularly well as far as ratings are concerned. It was a surprise that the "Beauty and the Beast" series was even picked up for a third season, let alone a fourth, which means that yes, it's a good day to be a Beastie.

In July, Mark Pedowitz, CW President said that the show has a very loyal fanbase, which is why the network decided to renew it for its third season. He explained, "It has a very big international following. We brought it back because... it's a very profitable show for everybody."

According to TV Line, the third season will focus on Cat's and Vincent's (played by Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan) love story, but it's not going to be an automatic happy ever after. The summary read, "Cat and Vincent are able to focus on their love, finally free from Muirfield, manhunts and beasts. However, that love will be tested as new and more dangerous threats await. When they learn that innocent victims are being used to test the boundaries of the impossible, Cat and Vincent will uncover a deeper conspiracy, one which Vincent can fight only by turning to the beast he carries within. But unleashing the beast will risk Vincent's life - along with his and Cat's love - as they struggle to build a normal life together."

The Hollywood Reporter noted that BATB is the latest in the CW shows to have an early pickup from the network. Along with BATB, the network also renewed "Arrow," "The Flash," "The Vampire Diaries," "The Originals," "Supernatural," "Reign," and "Jane the Virgin."

Variety reported that four pilot shows are also given the greenlight for the next cycle, all of which are dramas that include "Cheerleader Death Squad," "Tales from the Darkside," "Dead People," and "Cordon."

Are you looking forward to Cat and Vincent finally focusing on their love for each other for the third season, or would you rather see more action? Don't forget to mark your calendars as "Beauty and the Beast" returns on Thursday, May 21 at 8/7c.
